Wooden Church of St. Michael (1777) (Shelestiv Church) is the only classical Lemko wooden church remaining in Carpathians and in general in Ukraine there are two of them. Two wooden churches in Svaliava and Ruska Kuchava have undergone alterations.

Baroque tower of Wooden Church of St. Michael perfectly combined with roofs in old Ukrainian style. Common forms of Lemko wooden churches are dynamic rise from east to west. The church built of oak with height of tower 22 meters.

Historically Transcarpathian Lemko church are the most "traveling wooden churches". Three wooden churches in Lemko style were transported to Czech Republic in 1920-1930 years when Transcarpathia was part of Czechoslovakia. They are perfectly restored and still adorn parks in Prague, Nová Paka and Kunčice pod Ondřejníkem.

The second classical wooden church of Lemko style in Ukraine - Wooden Church of Intercession of Holy Virgin from Ploske village - was originally transported to Volovets and in 1974 to Pyrohiv (Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life).

Not bypassed move of Wooden Church of St. Michael. The date of construction was recognized in 1777 but well-known historian Tyvodar Lehotskyy believed that this is the year of consecration of the church after the repair and renovation.

Once in Shelestiv was built a new stone church the old Wooden Church of St. Michael in early March, 1928 offered to buy to Mukachevo Orthodox community. The church was moved in Mukachevo and consecrated on August 5,1928. In Soviet times the church was abandoned some time but in 1972 it moved to Uzhgorod Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life.

Early nineteenth century iconostasis decorated with icons of Transcarpathian famous painter of seventeenth century Elias Brodlakovych-Vyshensky. Icons "Archangel Michael", "Saint Nicholas", "Virgin Hodegetria" stored in art gallery of Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum named Joseph Bokshay in Uzhgorod. Today iconostasis has icons of XVIII century taken of church in Kolochava village.
